Point spread, total, moneyline and more for Dolphins-Cowboys in Week 3

The Dolphins are a disaster and the Cowboys are rolling through two weeks. It is no surprise we have a historic spread for their Week 3 matchup.

The Dolphins are bad. Getting outscored 102-10 over the first two games looks bad, but, somehow, amazingly, it’s actually been worse than that. The Dolphins don’t just lack talent, but they take actions and make decisions that are below the standard for a professional football team. The best example: with the clock stopped after the Patriots scored with 1:24 remaining before the half, the Dolphins wasted a timeout before the extra point attempt.

Miami is trying to shake things up by replacing starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick with Josh Rosen, but it’s no surprise the red-hot Cowboys are favored by more than three TDs. The Cowboys are second in the league in yards and fifth in points. The players talk about the powerful influence of new offensive coordinator (and former Cowboys’ backup QB) Kellen Moore. Dak Prescott is currently third in passing yards, despite that “America’s Team” has had double-digit leads throughout the second halves of both their games.

The big question for this game is whether or not the Cowboys will take their foot of the gas if they have a big lead late. After two weeks, the indication is they probably won’t. Up double-digits in the third quarter, the Cowboys first down play-calling has been seven pass attempts, eight rushes, and one trick play.
