Point spread, total, moneyline and more for Ravens-Chiefs in Week 3

Two of the most high profile quarterbacks in the NFL square off as Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs provide Lamar Jackson and the Ravens with their biggest challenge to date. We break down some key odds numbers, including the point spread and past performances.

The Ravens are off to an excellent start to the 2019 season. They have the second-best point differential in the league; +55 in two games. Perhaps most surprisingly, they lead the league in points scored, something many would not have guessed given the expected play-style of the offense with Lamar Jackson at quarterback. The rub, of course, is that they have faced two of the worst teams in the NFL. Miami is undoubtedly tanking the 2019 season, and the Cardinals, while improving, still have one of the NFL’s worst collections of talent. This will be a massive increase in matchup quality when they head to Arrowhead for the Chiefs.

Kansas City hasn’t missed a beat since 2018. They have scored 68 points in two games, and that’s without scoring a point in the second half last week against the Raiders. It is likely they could have scored if they wanted to given that Patrick Mahomes had four first-half touchdowns, but the team simply didn’t need it up 28-10. Speaking of Mahomes, he is red-hot following his MVP campaign in 2018. The second-year starter is completing 71 percent of his passes, has thrown for 821 yards and seven touchdowns, and has yet to throw an interception. How he performs against a Ravens defense that is ranked fourth by Football Outsiders’ DAVE metric will go a long way toward determining not only who wins/covers in this contest, but how many points will be scored.
