Start or sit Corey Davis on TNF in Week 3?

Davis has been mostly flat coming off his breakout season in 2018. We look at whether you should play or fade the Titans’ wideout in Week 3.

Let’s be real, nobody really expected much from the Titans’ offense in 2019. Outside of Derrick Henry, there aren’t many appealing fantasy football options. But considering what Corey Davis did last season, there was a bit of hope the Western Michigan product could maybe build on his 65-891-4 line from 2018. Problem is we haven’t seen anything close to that through two games. Davis averaged 7.0 targets per game last season; so far in 2019 he’s been thrown to eight times. It’s not what you want. Throw in the fact that Henry has been a beast and Marcus Mariota is at QB, and you’ve got a recipe for fantasy not-so-goodness.

Fantasy Impact: The biggest thing playing in Davis’ favor this week are the trade rumors surrounding Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey, who had a spat with coach Doug Marrone on the sideline during their loss to the Texans in Week 2. As of now, the plan is for Ramsey to suit up and play Thursday night. He’s one of the best corners in the NFL, so if he’s playing, you’d think he’d be on Davis most of this game. But is the wedge between Ramsey and Marrone enough of a distraction to give Davis a chance at a big game? Maybe. Does that mean you should play Davis? Probably not. Three receptions for 38 yards in two games and a horrible matchup on paper means you aren’t moving Davis from your bench for another week.

Recommendation: Sit
