We still do not know if the New York Giants will have Cody Latimer in the lineup this week against the Buffalo Bills. The veteran wide receiver was listed as questionable with a calf injury on the Friday injury report.
Latimer missed practice on Thursday, but he was able to return in a limited capacity on Friday. The Giants’ receiver depth chart is especially thin this week with Golden Tate suspended and both Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard out with injuries.
The veteran receiver has never been more than a role player throughout his six-year career. Last week, however, he proved to be Eli Manning’s go-to guy whenever he tried to push the ball down the field. Latimer had eight targets, but only three receptions and 74 yards.
In case you’re just waking up from a 10-year slumber, the New York offense is really bad this season, and there’s not much hope for things to turnaround anytime soon.
Fantasy Impact: If Latimer does play, he’ll be the No. 1 receiver by default. However, this is a suffocating Bills defense. Plus, the Giants are going to keep leaning heavily on Saquon Barkley and Evan Engram.
