It’s officially the weekend and that means it’s time to start building our perfect Week 2 daily fantasy lineups. Obviously, with every successful lineup comes a successful quarterback. You can’t have a money winning squad without the perfect signal caller: one who is the perfect balance between cost value and immense upside.
For those looking to make the perfect daily lineup, here are the top four quarterbacks in daily fantasy this weekend. These are the QBs who offer the best bang for their buck or are such a surefire, Hall of Fame pick, you’re willing to cough up the extra dough to get him onto your team.
Draft wisely. (Salaries courtesy of DraftKings.)
Lamar Jackson (vs Cardinals) - $6,700
This is taking candy from a baby. Yes $6,700 is a good chunk of your budget to spend on a quarterback and Jackson is the second most expensive QB this week, but he’s still somehow $800 cheaper than Patrick Mahomes and scored six more fantasy points than him last week. Oh, and he’s playing a much worse defense at home. Again, taking candy from a baby. Spend on Jackson because he’s a lock to be a top five fantasy QB this week.
Dak Prescott (@ Washington) - $6,300
I’ve been hyping up Prescott all offseason, not just because I thought Kellen Moore could be good for him (and boy is he good for Dak) but because Prescott has contently been a top 10 fantasy QB since entering the league. Now he looks to be even better with an offensive coordinator that knows what he’s doing and weapons galore around him. Added bonus, Washington’s defense is far from good.
Jared Goff (vs Saints) - $5,900
Goff didn’t look great in Week 1, scoring only 10.4 points on DraftKings but I’m expecting a full rebound in Week 2. The NFC Championship rematch is sure to be an offensive shootout and Goff will get back on track against a defense that gave up 31.7 points to Deshaun Watson last week.
Gardner Minshew (@ Texans) - $4,800
I promise this isn’t just because I can’t think straight after staring into Minshew’s mustache for too long. I also promise this isn’t because I’m trying to put good vibes out there since I’m starting Minshew in fantasy this week. The rookie QB came in for an injured Nick Foles in Week 1 and look not just good, but comfortable running the Jaguars offense. I’m fully buying The Stache to shine again against the Texans.
