The Jets did what no other team has done this season; they lost to the Dolphins. It was quite an atrocious game, which was to be expected from two of the league’s worst teams. Both sides scored a safety, which hasn’t happened since 1994. The Jets were certainly the worse team, as they were only able to reach the endzone once. There weren’t many fantasy points to go around, but Le’Veon Bell took what he could. After a steady four-game decline, Bell ran for 66 yards and caught eight passes (equal team-high with Crowder) for 55 yards, totaling 20.10 DKFP.

It was Le’Veon’s third-highest score of the season, but we were hoping for more against Miami. His involvement in the passing game is very encouraging, he just needs to find a way to convert those touches into touchdowns. His next chance will be in the battle for MetLife Stadium. The Jets are technically the home team, but does that really matter in this one? On a short week for the Giants, and with Bell’s price dropping to $6,900, he could be a viable option. Though, there are better picks you could make in that price range.

This was probably the best defensive performance we’ve seen in a long time, leading to a 33-0 win for the undefeated Patriots. Hopefully with New England out of the picture, Darnold will stop seeing ghosts. But then again, Halloween has yet to arrive.

As has been the case for a few games this season, Le’Veon Bell was the only bright spot (relatively speaking) for the Jets, putting up a team-leading 8.60 DKFP. It’s his lowest fantasy output of the season, so things should theoretically trend in the right direction for the crafty RB. Next week, he’ll go up against the Jaguars’ middle-of-the-pack defense. At $6,900 (a $500 bump from his last main slate appearance,) Bell will be a contrarian pick coming off of four lackluster performances in a row.

Let’s not get carried away, but the offense is significantly better with him throwing the ball, as he put up 338 yards and two touchdowns against the NFC East leading Cowboys. Bell did get in for a TD, which at least bumped his fantasy output to 12.30 DKFP, but that’s his second-lowest scoring performance of the season.

As predicted, the Eagles crushed the Jets 31-6, which keeps them as the only winless team in New York. Also as predicted, Le’Veon Bell was the main source of offense for the Jets, putting up 88 total yards on 15 carries and seven receptions (most of either team.) The troubling part is knowing that Bell will be hard-pressed to find the endzone since the Jets are so bad.

Things don’t get any easier for New York in Week 6. A trip to Dallas is in store. After a home loss to Green Bay, a bounce-back game is exactly what the Cowboys will view this as. The Jets will surely be trailing again, as this game opens as the third-biggest point spread of the week. While the Cowboys just gave up four rushing touchdowns to Aaron Jones, I don’t think we can rely on a similar outcome from Le’Veon. His price has dropped to $6,400, but unless Sam Darnold returns from injury, I would avoid picking Bell.

An 0-3 start for the Jets isn’t exactly what they had in mind, but neither was having their starting quarterback contract mono, sidelining him for a few weeks. Sam Darnold hopes to return for this matchup against Philly, but ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported that he “still has hurdles to clear” before playing.

The way to attack the Eagles is through the air, which may bode well for Bell, whose average of 40.3 receiving yards per game is good enough for the eighth-best among running backs this season. Week 4 marks the beginning of bye weeks, and the Jets are one of the two teams to get the first long rest. Sam Darnold hopes to make his return in Week 5 against a pass-friendly Eagles team, which would make Le’Veon an interesting play. Philadelphia plays Green Bay on Thursday night this week, giving it a sort of abridged version of a bye week before hosting New York in Week 5.

I can’t bring myself to believe the Jets will be the team to change that, but if there’s anyone on the roster who can, it’s Le’Veon Bell. His Week 3 salary is $7,000, making him the seventh-most expensive running back on the main slate, but you can find better options this week.

The running back powers in MetLife Stadium are stronger than ever, but will Saquon Barkley or Le’Veon Bell be New York’s best?

Access that memory from 2017, folks, and you’ll remember just how good Bell was. He logged 1,291 rushing yards and nine rushing TDs, as well as 85 receptions for 655 yards and two TDs. Bell trailed only Todd Gurley in fantasy points among RBs that season. So, we all know what he’s capable of.
