Report: Jordan Howard won’t play on MNF

Jordan Howard continues to deal with a shoulder injury and looks unlikely to play on MNF

Jordan Howard hasn’t been cleared for contact yet and beat writer Zach Berman doesn’t expect him to play on Monday night. That should again give Miles Sanders another boost in work, but we also might finally see Jay Ajayi get a few more snaps and attempts as well.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson doesn’t want to over-tax the rookie Sanders, so instead of giving him a big workload, they’ve thrown the ball more often, but lost in the process. Pederson says, “I’d love to get Jay a few more touches and get Boston (Scott) in the mix so we’re not obviously wearing Miles down here this last month of the season.”

Fantasy football analysis: Eagles RB Jordan Howard

Sanders has seen 50 touches in the three games with Howard out, which is a 16.7 average. His biggest workload came last week against the Dolphins when he touched the ball 23 times. It doesn’t sound like Pederson wants that number to happen again, so we probably should ready ourselves for around 15 touches, which is still useful for Sanders in fantasy.

Jay Ajayi should see a little more work than he has but so could Scott. Neither will have much upside against the Giants on Monday Night Football.
