How to handle betting on Timberwolves-Lakers

Minnesota is dealing with a bunch of injuries while L.A. continues to roll in the West. We break down the odds and lines on DK Sportsbook.

The Minnesota Timberwolves (10-11) have lost three in a row, including a tough OT loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday. The Los Angeles Lakers (20-3) continue to roll at the top of the Western Conference, winning three straight, including 13 of 14 games. The T-Wolves have a lengthy injury report today, including Karl-Anthony Towns (knee), Andrew Wiggins (thumb), Jeff Teague (ankle) and Jake Layman (toe). KAT is expected to play, while Wiggins and Teague are questionable.

Let’s take a look at the lines and odds on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Timberwolves vs. Lakers spread, over/under, money line

Spread: Lakers (-11)
Over/Under: 226.5
Money line: Lakers (-670), Timberwolves (+500)

I’m going to start backwards with the money line. I think if the T-Wolves have all three studs healthy — KAT, Wiggins and Teague — then the plus-money looks pretty good and I think this game is a bit more even than the line indicates. If healthy, the T-Wolves at +11 seems favorable, since the Lakers tend to blowout bad teams, which Minnesota is not. This is a wait-and-see situation on the injuries, so keep an eye on that. The O/U would be dictated on the Wolves’ health. If healthy, gimme the over. If Wiggins and Teague are out, gimme the under.
