How to watch and what to watch in the Big 12 Championship, Oklahoma vs. Baylor

It’s a rematch from one of the best games in college football this season. Who gets it done with a potential Playoff bid on the line?

I understand why the Big 12 decided to add a conference championship a few years ago. Everyone else has one, and it makes everybody richer. But in a conference with 10 teams that already play each other, isn’t the title game a little unnecessary? I’ve made the argument this game typically hurts the Big 12 where only bad things can happen for its potential Playoff teams, but this year is not the case.

The Oklahoma Sooners and Baylor Bears each need a win in this game to have an argument over Utah if that’s the way this plays out. All eyes will be on this one in the first Power 5 conference matchup of the day on Saturday.

Game Time/TV Channel/Streaming

The Big 12 Championship will begin at noon ET in Arlington on Saturday and can be seen on FOX.

Point Spread, Totals, Odds, Trends

Spread: Oklahoma (-9) vs. Baylor
Point Total: 62 O/U (-110)
Money line: Sooners (-335), Bears (+255)

- Baylor is 5-1 in its last six games against the spread, while Oklahoma is 1-4 in its last five.

- Baylor led Oklahoma 31-10 before being shut out in the second half on Nov. 16. The Bears also led 28-3 - the most dangerous lead in sports.

- Oklahoma has won the first two Big 12 title games, while this is Baylor’s first appearance.

Pick against the spread

Oklahoma capped off its incredible comeback against Baylor a few weeks ago, and the Sooners will win this one with much less stress. Oklahoma knows what it takes in massive games like this one, while this Baylor team certainly does not considering the Bears are coming off a 1-11 season. Baylor and Matt Rhule have been the best story in college football, but Oklahoma has too much big game experience and too many play makers to bet against the Sooners in this spot.

Whoever wins in this game will be going for it all in terms of trying to run up the score as high as possible to impress committee members heading into Selection Sunday. Oklahoma will not stop going for the end zone until the ballgame is over. They’re playing for a blowout, which means they’re playing for a cover.

Pick: Oklahoma -9
