Joel Embiid will not play Saturday night vs. Cavaliers

Sixers center expected to sit out due to hip injury. We break down the fantasy basketball implications.

The Philadelphia 76ers will not have starters Joel Embiid (hip) and Josh Richardson for their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday. It appears Embiid will be getting some rest while Richardson will miss his fifth straight game due to a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Basketball Analysis: Philadelphia 76ers rotation

So with Embiid out, this is a major upgrade for Al Horford ($6,700) and Tobias Harris ($7,400) in the front court. It also slightly helps Ben Simmons ($8,200), though he normally benefits from having Embiid down low for easy assists. We can expect Mike Scott ($3,200) to get more minutes, and potentially enter the starting lineup in an easy matchup vs. the Cavaliers. If Cleveland is without Kevin Love, I’d view both Horford and Harris as great all-around plays.
