Brett Maher continues missing field goals

The Dallas Cowboys worked out several kickers this past week, and it’s safe to say they might consider another look after Week 14. Kicker Brett Maher missed a 42-yard field goal attempt in the second quarter of Thursday Night Football, marking his tenth missed field goal of the season. It is the most missed field goals in a single season in the last four years, according to NFL Research.

The Cowboys worked out Nick Rose, Austin MacGinnis, and Tristan Vizcaino this past Sunday after Maher missed two field goals against the Buffalo Bills on Thanksgiving. He has yet to put together a solidly consistent stretch for a Cowboys team that badly needs every point as the 6-6 squad hang on to the NFC East lead by the skin of their teeth.

Maher did manager to convert an extra point in the first quarter, so the Cowboys trail the Bears heading into halftime.
