The Philadelphia Eagles return to practice on Thursday in preparation for Week 14 Monday Night Football, and it appears running back Jordan Howard will probably miss another week. Head coach Doug Pederson told the media on Thursday that Howard still has not been cleared for contact in practice, according to beat writer Jeff McLane.
Howard has missed three straight games since returning from the Eagles bye. Pederson said he does not think the injury is season-ending, but his comments suggest it might still be a bit before Howard can return to action.
Fantasy football analysis: Eagles RB Miles Sanders, Jordan Howard
Sanders has become the Eagles workhorse back in Howard’s absence. He faces a decent Giants run defense, but remains a strong start as a volume play. Until Howard returns, Sanders is going to get the bulk of the work over Jay Ajayi.
If you have Howard on your roster, we’re fast approaching time to release him in re-draft leagues if you need the roster spot. He could return for some decent matchups against Washington and the Giants in Weeks 15 and 16, but I suspect we don’t see him in time to benefit fantasy playoff rosters.
