Blake Griffin remains out Tuesday vs. Cavaliers [UPDATE]

Pistons big man has been dealing with a knee injury that has held him out since early in the week.

UPDATE: Jan. 6, 5:42 p.m. — Griffin is being listed as out again Tuesday vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers.

UPDATE: Jan. 5, 5:38 p.m. — Griffin is being listed as out for Sunday’s game vs. the Los Angeles Lakers. So is Markieff Morris, so the Pistons will be very thin in the frontcourt.

UPDATE: Griffin, as expected, has been ruled out for Thursday night’s game vs. the Clippers.

Sekou Doumbouya will make his first career start at PF in place of Griffin. At basement pricing of $3,000 on DraftKings, Doumbouya isn’t a bad value play, though we aren’t sure just how much he’s going to play despite starting. Andre Drummond is now a very good GPP play and a candidate for the Captain’s spot in Showdown.

UPDATE: Griffin is being listed as doubtful for Thursday night’s game vs. the Los Angeles Clippers. It’s unfortunately Griffin likely won’t be able to play against his former team. We saw Bruce Brown start in place of Griffin on Monday vs. the Spurs. But we’ll see if the Pistons go big or small again.

UPDATE: So Morris won’t start in place of Griffin. The Pistons will start the same lineup as their game vs. the Spurs, but Bruce Brown will get in there in place of Griffin. They’re basically running four guards against the Jazz, so we’ll see how that goes.

Detroit Pistons PF Blake Griffin has been ruled out of Monday’s game vs. the Utah Jazz due to knee soreness.

So with Griffin out vs. the Jazz, we can expect Markieff Morris to pick up the slack in the starting lineup. Christian Wood should also see additional minutes off the bench with Thon Maker. Andre Drummond should eat up more rebounds as well, though it’s not an easy task for him going up against Rudy Gobert.
