Eagles guard Brandon Brooks to miss playoffs with shoulder injury

The Eagles suffered another brutal injury, this time to their offensive line. We break down what it might mean for the wild card round against Seattle.

The Philadelphia Eagles have lost an assortment of players to injury this season, and they suffered another brutal loss in their Week 17 win over the New York Giants. Right guard Brandon Brooks suffered a shoulder injury, according to head coach Doug Pederson. Matt Pryor played in his place and Pederson praised him, but acknowledged losing Brooks is big.

The Eagles host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in the Wild Card round, and this creates in both run and pass blocking. Brooks has graded out as one of the best guards in both facets. The Eagles rank 14th in adjusted line yards, but were second in ALY for runs from guard to guard.

Seattle’s defensive front ranks 25th in ALY for runs guard to guard, so this gives them a modest boost. The Seahawks rank 31st in adjusted sack rate, and will look to get more pressure on Carson Wentz in Brooks’ absence.
