Two wide receiver sleepers for wild card DFS

We look at two daily fantasy football value wide receivers for the wild card round.

The wild card round is stacked with stud wide receivers, with Michael Thomas and DeAndre Hopkins leading the way. Thomas is a cheat code and if you can find a way to get him on your team, you’re going to like the results but getting him on your team will be a challenge at $9,300, which is $1,100 higher than any other player on the slate. To give you a shot at grabbing Thomas, we’ve got a couple value plays at the position that might help you out. Don’t forget the overvalued wide receivers as well.

Greg Ward, Philadelphia Eagles ($5,200)

DraftKings has done a good job pricing this week, as the only value plays who aren’t big risks, are priced up higher than I’d like, but that’s what we have to work with this week. Maybe some injury news will open up some value this week but for now, our old standby Greg Ward gets the nod at $5,200. Ward has yet to show much upside, but he has been a consistent PPR player, as he’s caught four or more passes in five of his last six games. Last week he caught 6-of-7 targets for 43 yards and has hit double-digit DK points in three straight. His consistency should make him a plug and play for cash games against a middling Seattle secondary.

Cole Beasley, Buffalo Bills ($5,600)

Beasley has topped 19 DK points in three of his last five games, showing much more upside than he has in the past, as he’s also found the end zone in three of his last five games. He was inactive last week to rest but his last game was a great one against a good Patriots defense, where he caught 7-of-12 passes for 108 yards. This week he gets a Houston pass defense that is much worse. Right now, Ward and Beasley are my only value receivers I’ll let touch my cash game lineups.
