Odds on Marshawn Lynch to score a touchdown improve considerably

Beast Mode is back for Week 17. Marshawn Lynch will get work against the 49ers on Sunday Night Football, and bettors think he can find the end zone.

The Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football to close out Week 17, and it brings a fascinating reunion. The Seahawks signed free agent running backs Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin after they lost Chris Carson and C.J. Prosise to injuries.

Lynch was reportedly retired from football, and was last spotted enjoying an Oakland Raiders tailgate in the team’s final game in the Bay Area. He flew up to Seattle early in Week 17 and was signed in short order.

The workload for Lynch and Turbin is uncertain, but sports bettors are high on Lynch’s chances of finding pay dirt. DraftKings Sportsbook installed Lynch at roughly +375 to score a touchdown against the 49ers. As kickoff approaches, that number has been bet down to +180.

Lynch last played in 2018, for the Oakland Raiders. He scored a touchdown in three of his six games and currently is 16th all time in rushing touchdowns and 29th all time in total touchdowns.

The 49ers rank 12th in run defense efficiency and in adjusted line yards. They rank eighth for fewest rushing touchdowns allowed per game. They present a tough challenge to Lynch, but I can see why fans get sentimental with Beast Mode.
