For the second season in a row, the Jacksonville Jaguars are on the verge of a last place AFC South finish with a 5-11 record. They’ll try to salvage a sixth win as they host the Indianapolis Colts (7-8) on the final day of regular season football. While each team is mathematically eliminated from playoffs, the game itself strangely has postseason implications for other teams. If the Colts, Texans, Ravens and Raiders win, Oakland will hold the final Wild Card spot. Now that would be a fun parlay.
Even though the Colts seemingly had nothing to play for last week, they showed one of their best performances of the season beating the Panthers 38-6. While Jacoby Brissett (DFS salary $5,800) didn’t need to do much in the air, he added a rushing touchdown of his own. The young quarterback will have the opportunity to carry his team to a .500 season, giving the Colts something to feel good about for the future.
The Jags don’t have too much to look forward to, as they’ve lost six of their last seven. A Nick Foles-led offense fell to the Colts back in Week 11 by 20 points, but this time around, Garnder Minshew ($5,300) will try his hand (or arm). In the end, Indy should be able to handle Jacksonville and cover, finishing the season with a positive record at the spread.
