Luka Doncic will play Thursday vs. Spurs [UPDATE]

Mavericks star will return to lineup after two-week absence due to ankle sprain.

UPDATE: Doncic will play Thursday night vs. the Spurs, coach Rick Carlisle confirmed this afternoon.

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is questionable to return Thursday vs. the San Antonio Spurs.

Doncic had been dealing with an ankle sprain for the past two weeks, but it looks like he’s close to returning. He’s got a chance to get back into the lineup Thursday night against the Spurs. If Doncic returns, we’ll have to see if he’s going to be on a minutes restriction. I think if nothing else coach Rick Carlisle will be cautious with how much Luka plays. Jalen Brunson would go back to the bench, and it’s a downgrade to Kristaps Porzingis.
