Minnesota Vikings RBs Dalvin Cook (shoulder) and Alexander Mattison (ankle) are both inactive for Monday Night Football in Week 16 vs. the Green Bay Packers. Cook was injured last week in the Vikings’ win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Mattison had already been ruled out, so Mike Boone was thrust into the RB1 role for Minnesota. Boone rushed 13 times for 56 yards and two TDs in the victory.
Fantasy Football Analysis: Minnesota Vikings running backs
This is a fairly easy decision for you to make if you’re still playing in season-long leagues. Boone is a must-start on MNF vs. the Packers with both Cook and Mattison out. The only real competition for carries in the backfield for Boone is Ameer Abdullah, who has 13 carries in 14 games all season. Abdullah also isn’t a threat in the passing game, so Boone should see more of those targets. Green Bay has given up a lot of yards this season, but does a decent job limiting points. Even so, Boone wouldn’t need much to have a solid fantasy outing given he’s in line for around 15-20 touches.
