How to handle Jack Doyle in Week 16 fantasy football

Doyle remains a high-risk, high-reward type of play for Sunday’s main slate. We break down whether you should start or sit the Colts’ TE.

Indianapolis Colts TE Jack Doyle enters this week coming off two duds. Prior to that, he had a breakout with Eric Ebron ruled out for the rest of the season. Doyle was unable to do much in matchups vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints the past two weeks, so it leaves us questioning whether we can roll him out in this matchup vs. the Carolina Panthers.

Fantasy Football Analysis: Indianapolis Colts TE Jack Doyle

The Panthers defense is in relative shambles and they no longer have coach Riverboat Ron Rivera at the helm, so the team has sort of given up on the season. Because of this, I don’t really mind Doyle as a start option in your championship game this week. He’d be risky, but if you don’t have many options and the rest of your lineup looks decent, you could do worse. I also think Will Grier starting at QB for Carolina is advantageous for the Colts. Grier has a big arm, but he was also turnover prone at WVU. I love the kid (I’m a WVU alumnus), but a few INTs could sway the field position battle, and that favors Doyle in the red zone.
