Eagles-Cowboys game offers playoff implications in Week 16

The Eagles and Cowboys square off for a chance at a division title and a playoff berth.

Dallas heads to Philadelphia in Week 16 for a matchup that will likely decide the NFC East. Both teams come into this game playing better than they have recently, as the Eagles have won two in a row and Dallas broke a three game losing streak with a decisive win over the Rams.

The Cowboys ran over the Eagles in Week 7 37-10 in Dallas, but they went on to lose four of their next six and let the Eagles right back into the race for the NFC East. They are now tied at 7-7 each. Neither has a chance at a wild card spot. Both the Bears and Buccaneers have 7-7 records and are eliminated from the playoffs already, so a division title and it’s automatic playoff spot is the only chance both teams have at making the playoffs.

If Dallas wins this game, they will win the division and host a wild card game. If the Eagles win, they would need to beat the Giants in Week 17 or have the Cowboys lose to Washington. The Eagles did lose to the Dolphins recently, so losing to the Giants isn’t totally out of the realm of possibility. But before we get to that scenario, this is a must-win game for both teams no matter how you cut it.

Division winner

Eagles: +155 to win NFC East

NFC Champ

Cowboys: +1400
Eagles: +2000

Super Bowl Champ
