New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is ACTIVE for Week 16 against the Buffalo Bills. Edelman was limited in practice all three days this week and was listed as questionable.
Edeman has been dealing with knee and shoulder injuries, in a season where he has regularly been on the injury report. It’s not a shocking development that he is active. Ian Rapoport reported on Friday that Edelman would play in spite of the injuries, and that’s been the case all season.
Fantasy football analysis: Patriots wide receivers
The Patriots and Bills square off in what should be a defensive slug-fest. The two teams have given up the fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. The Patriots are also tops against wide receivers and the Bills rank fourth. Neither offense is likely to get too much going.
That being said, Edelman is likely to remain Tom Brady’s primary target. Mohamed Sanu and N’Keal Harry should be sat outside of the deepest of leagues, but Edelman is worth a start in most formats. He struggled last week to the tune of two receptions for nine yards, but has reached double digits in PPR leagues in all but two games. He’s enough of a volume play to maintain his value in standard leagues as well.
