Bowl season continues on in a game between a much-improved Central Michigan Chippewas team going up against the San Diego State Aztecs in the New Mexico Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 21.
What a season it’s been in Jim McElwain’s first season at Central Michigan. The former Florida coach took a few steps down to the MAC and turned a 1-11 team into an 8-5 squad, falling short in the conference title game.
San Diego State comes in with a 9-3 record out of the Mountain West, and the Aztecs play up or down to its competition, almost guaranteeing a close game whenever they step onto the field. In 10 of 12 games this season, San Diego State either won or lost by 10 points or less.
Game Time/TV Channel/Streaming
The New Mexico Bowl will begin at 2:00 p.m. ET in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Saturday, Dec. 21 and can be seen on ESPN and WatchESPN.

The Best Bet
I’m leaning San Diego State to cover, but this one just screams under. Like we just mentioned, the under has hit six times in a row for San Deigo State, and here are the point totals in the last five games for the Aztecs: 37, 30, 24, 25, 16. It’ll be a sweat and you’ll be uncomfortable whenever a point is scored with a low total of 41, but it’ll be worth it when you cash your ticket on Saturday.
Pick: Under 41
