UPDATE: Powell is listed as out for Friday’s game vs. the Washington Wizards, per the 5:30 NBA Injury Report. This isn’t the diagnosis we’ve been waiting for, so we only know that Powell will miss the next game, not if he’ll be out long-term. Fred VanVleet is being listed as questionable, so he could return and replace Powell in the starting lineup. But still, the Raptors are going to be thin without Marc Gasol (hamstring) and Powell. OG Anunoby should see more minutes with Powell out, though FVV is the guy who will play a ton if he’s not restricted.
UPDATE: Powell is expected to be evaluated on Thursday, per the Raptors.

Both Marc Gasol (left hamstring strain) and Norman Powell (left shoulder injury) will be reevaluated Thursday in Toronto, and an update will be provided as appropriate.
Toronto Raptors guard Norman Powell left Wednesday night’s win over the Detroit Pistons early due to a shoulder injury. Powell left to the locker room late grabbing his shoulder and it was seen in a sling during postgame. Clearly Powell was in a lot of pain and this doesn’t appear to be good.
Fantasy Basketball Analysis: Toronto Raptors SG/SF Norman Powell
This is bad news for the Raps, who are already down Fred VanVleet. They’ll be a bit more thin in the backcourt if this is serious. VanVleet (knee) is supposed to be back soon, but trading FVV for Powell doesn’t help the Raptors’ depth.
Powell finished with 16.75 FPTS on DraftKings at $6,400, which didn’t cut it in 33 minutes. We did see a nice game from OG Anunoby ($5,000), who had 19 points and eight rebounds with three assists for 35.5 DKFP. He’d be the likely candidate to step up with Powell out, though chances are Patrick McCaw or Terence Davis would be in line to start at SG until FVV returns.
