When two of the top 4 teams in a conference meet, you hope you get a game to remember. That was exactly the case Wednesday night when the Miami Heat nearly blew a double-digit lead late to the Philadelphia 76ers in Philly. The Heat covered the spread and ended the Sixers’ 14-game home winning streak this season, but it wasn’t easy in the end. We break down the fantasy basketball performances here.
Kendrick Nunn ($6,000) led the Heat in scoring with 42.00 DKFP on 26 points in 40 minutes thanks to some hot outside shooting. Joel Embiid held it down for the Sixers with 57.75 DKFP on 24 points and 19 rebounds, recording another double-double. Embiid almost dug the Sixers out of the hole, but didn’t have enough in the tank. Miami could have lost on a final 3-pointer by Al Horford, but he missed.
Other notable fantasy performances include Bam Adebayo ($8,000), who scored 23 points with nine boards and five assists for 48.25 DKFP, hitting flames. Jimmy Butler ($8,900) had an off night in a game against his former team, only scoring 14 points with seven rebounds and five assists for 32.25 DKFP.
The win moved the Heat back into 2nd place in the East at 20-8 and the Sixers drop all the way down to 5th place behind the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors. Philly is now 14-1 at home and 20-9 overall in the tight conference. Going with the Heat was an easy call on DK Sportsbook. Earlier in the day Miami was getting 6.5 points, which seemed absurd given the nature of the contest — playoff atmosphere, two top teams in the East, come on now.
