Welcome to Week 16 of the NFL season. We’ve got a bunch of DFS analysis and news for you this week, as we wrap up the fantasy season. Thankfully daily fantasy keeps chugging along even if you’ve been eliminated from your redraft leagues.
Today we will look at some value plays at D/ST and if they are worth your time and hard-earned dollars. Salaries via DraftKings.
BEST: Washington ($2,800) vs. Giants
Eli Manning is still Eli Manning. He still can put up fantasy points but he’s not going to maximize his team’s potential and he will continue to make some head-scratching throws. Washington has played good defense off and on this season but for the most part they’ve been just plain bad. The good news is that they’ve shown good upside with 21, 11, and 7 DK points in their last four games and they get a good matchup at home against Manning this week.
WORST: Chargers ($3,100) vs Raiders
The Raiders have looked awful to finish the season, but even as they’ve gotten blown out and lost to bad teams, they still manage to keep from giving up too many D/ST points to their opponents. Their strong offensive line and Derek Carr’s propensity to throw the ball away instead of forcing it, keeps them relatively tough to attack with your defense.
START Jets ($3,000) vs. Steelers
The Steelers have been another team that’s hard to score D/ST points against due to their conservative ways but last Sunday night you saw what Devlin Hodges could do w=for your D/ST, especially when forced to throw the ball. The Jets have a decent defense and will be at home, where they’ve played some of their best games.
WORST: Saints ($2,700) vs. Titans
The Saints have been one of the better defenses in the league this season, but like any fantasy defense, that doesn’t always correlate into fantasy points. This week they face a Titans offense in Tennessee that has upped their game under Ryan Tannehill. Sacks have been a problem for them but they’ve given up just two in their last two games and are putting up enough points to keep D/STs from reaching their upside.
