T.Y. Hilton has down game in return from injury

T.Y. Hilton couldn’t break out in his return to the field on MNF

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton makes a third quarter catch against the Los Angeles Chargers at Dignity Health Sports Park. Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Despite T.Y. Hilton and his coach saying he won’t be on a pitch count on Monday night, he very much appears to be on a pitch count. Marcus Johnson made a great catch early on and Jacoby Brissett missed a wide open Zach Pascal while Hilton has been in and out of the game.

UPDATE

Hilton now has two targets and no receptions as he continues to see limited snaps. Jacoby Brissett missed him badly on his first target and has continued to miss receivers in this game. Brissett’s trouble coupled with Hilton’s lack of playing time is bad news for Hilton’s prospects in the second half.

UPDATE

With the Colts down big, Hilton did start seeing more work in the fourth quarter but Brissett continued to miss him more often than not. Hilton ended up catching 4-of-11 targets for 25 yards. Zach Pascal led the way with four receptions for 44 yards, which was the highest yardage output of any Colts player.
