How to handle Bo Scarbrough injury in Week 15 fantasy football

Bo Scarbrough is questionable Sunday, but Ty Johnson and J.D. McKissic are the most likely candidates to play against the Buccaneers

Detroit Lions running back Bo Scarbrough is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers. However, the young running back is trending in the wrong direction after missing Thursday and Friday practice with a rib injury. Traditionally, players who miss practice on the last two days of the week end up inactive on Sunday. For now, consider Scarbrough a game-time decision, and keep an eye out for inactives at 11:30 a.m.

Scarbrough has been a workhorse back since assuming the lead role in the wake of Kerryon Johnson’s long-term injury, but he injured his ribs this past Sunday. Ty Johnson and J.D. McKissic have worked as backups behind him, with McKissic focused more in the passing game.

Fantasy football analysis: Lions RB Bo Scarbrough

Should Scarbrough miss Sunday’s game, expect the Lions to deploy both Johnson and McKissic in complementary roles. Johnson would handle the lead back role and McKissic would be likely to work in passing-down situations.

Against the league’s top defense against the run, neither are considered solid fantasy options. If Scarbrough plays, he’s a decent volume play, but again, the Bucs run defense has been impressive.
