Zach Ertz helped bring his team back for a win over the Giants last week, scoring two touchdowns while catching 9-of-13 targets for 91 yards. Dallas Goedert caught 3-of-6 targets for 41 yards in that game and hasn’t topped 69 yards all season. He does continue to see useful target numbers with 21 over his last three games of which he’s caught 16.
Goedert’s usage is good but he’s been dropping too many passes and hasn’t scored a touchdown in his last three games, as he had scored three in his previous four. The good news for his usage is that Alshon Jeffery is done for the season and Nelson Agholor hasn’t practiced this week. If both are out, Goedert should see enough work to increase his upside against an overall weak Washington defense.
Fantasy football analysis: Philadelphia Eagles TEs Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert
Washington ranks seventh-worst at allowing fantasy points to tight ends and ranks 31st in DVOA against the position. The last time these two teams played was in Week 1 when all of the Eagles receivers were healthy and DeSean Jackson caught eight passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns while Alshon Jeffery scored another.
With Jeffery and Jackson and likely Agholor out, Ertz will be the No. 1 target while Goedert should be the second or third. The Eagles are still in the playoff hunt, so they will go all out.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Ertz across the board.
Start Goedert in most 12-team leagues.
