Kyler Murray is coming off two of his worst games of the season at home against the Rams and Steelers. Those matchups were tough, but Murray has declined of late, as he hasn’t topped 200 passing yards in his last three games.
The Steelers contained Murray’s rushing completely in Week 15, limiting him to just two yards on six attempts. That of course hasn’t been the norm and we should expect that to be an outlier. His upside should remain high moving forward but it is going to be harder to trust him after these down performances.
Fantasy football analysis: Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray
Murray faces a Browns defense in Week 15 that has given up the thirteenth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. They’ve been better of late but have also faced Mason Rudolph, Ryan Fitzpatrick (who hit 23 fantasy points), Devlin Hodges and Andy Dalton.
The Browns can be beaten but for the most part they’ve kept quarterbacks from putting up their best games. The loss of Myles Garrett does help the Cardinals, as their offensive line is not good, which allowed the Steelers to corral Murray last week.
Trusting Murray right now is a leap of faith but he is likely to improve on his latest outings this week. Will that be enough to trust him in the fantasy playoffs? The answer is likely no, but also depends on who you have available to replace him.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Sit Murray.
