Blake Griffin, Andre Drummond both available to play Wednesday vs. Raptors [UPDATE]

Pistons will have their front court duo back in the lineup for a big game vs. Toronto.

UPDATE #5: Both Griffin and Drummond will be available to play Wednesday night vs. the Raptors after missing Monday’s contest.

Griffin has been dealing with a knee injury, while Drummond has been dealing with an avocado. Wait, no, he just had an allergic reaction to an avocado and couldn’t really see, which is bad. But both appear to be fine and will return to the starting lineup tonight. It’s a tough matchup vs. the Raptors, who are a decent defensive team.

But Toronto isn’t great rebounding the ball, so both Griffin and Drummond are in decent spots. I’d lean Drummond, because I can’t imagine he’ll be restricted much so long as nobody has guacamole in the stands or on the bench or something. It’s a downgrade to Markieff Morris and Thon Maker, as well as Christian Wood.

UPDATE #4: Drummond has now been ruled OUT for tonight’s game.

UPDATE #3: Drummond is still dealing with inflammation in his eye and his status remains uncertain, per coach Dwane Casey.

This situation sounds shaky at best for Drummond. It’s important to keep an eye on the news leading up to tip-off. I’d be cautious with rolling Drumm out in DFS and season-long at this point. We should see Maker start again with Drummond being available off the bench, but things are unclear. Will keep you updated.

UPDATE #2: Griffin has been ruled out for Monday night’s game vs. the Wizards.

As a result, we should see Markieff Morris start in his place tonight. Drummond will be available to play, so he should slot back into the starting lineup and send Thon Maker to the bench. Morris and Christian Wood are in line for more minutes tonight with Griffin out and make for good DFS value plays.

UPDATE: Griffin is being listed as questionable to play Monday vs. the Wizards, while C Andre Drummond (avocado) is also questionable.

Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin left Saturday night’s game vs. the Houston Rockets due to left knee soreness and was unable to return.

Markieff Morris started the second half for Griffin in the surprising win over Houston. Morris finished with 15 points and eight rebounds in 27 minutes. The Pistons were without center Andre Drummond, who was out due to an eye issue. So Detroit was down its two top frontcourt men.

Fantasy Basketball Analysis: Detroit Pistons PF/C Blake Griffin

If Griffin is out next game, Morris should start and make for a decent DFS play on DraftKings. The Pistons are taking on the Wizards on Monday, which is perfect for Morris considering it’s a revenge narrative. Plus, the Wizards aren’t a bad matchup either, missing Thomas Bryant and most recently Moritz Wagner. Markieff is likely a top cash-game play for Monday’s slate if Griffin is out.

If Griffin’s injury is serious, then Morris is worth picking up in season-long leagues. Thon Maker and Christian Wood are also intriguing options if you miss out on Morris. Maker doesn’t do much, but can rebound and started for Drummond. Wood posted a double-double vs. Houston in 22 minutes (13 rebounds, 11 points). I’d lean Wood over Maker, and Wood is likely the GPP pivot off of Morris for Monday.
