We’ve got eight games in the NBA for Saturday, but one of them is early on, so seven games on the main slate on DraftKings will have to do. We’ll be monitoring a few spots heading into Saturday: Giannis Antetokounmpo’s status and Russell Westbrook potentially resting. This would open up a few places for us to pay up/find some value. Anyway, let’s get into some top players to target at each position for Saturday’s main slate.
Note: Be sure to follow the news and injuries throughout the day and adjust your lineups accordingly.
Point Guard
James Harden, HOU vs. DET, $12,900 — This is a very high price on Harden — the highest we’ve seen on him all season. Still, it’s crazy to think Harden can return value in this spot. If Westbrook is ruled out to rest, Harden could see 40% usage in a game that should be relatively competitive. The Pistons don’t have any answer for Harden on defense, so a ceiling game could be in the works. Harden would only really need to hit 60-65 DKFP to return 5x value anyway. The Beard is the top GPP play if Russ sits.
Other Options: Kyle Lowry, TOR vs. BKN, $7,800; Eric Bledsoe, MIL vs. CLE, $6,700
Shooting Guard
Duncan Robinson, MIA at DAL, $5,700 — A lot of hype is surrounding rookie Kendrick Nunn for the Heat. Robinson has also deserved some praise, plus I’m more keen on him in DFS since Nunn should get more attention in lineups. The Mavericks’ defense is about average, but they play up in pace, so I think that will favor Robinson’s shooting ability. He’s coming off a career-high 34 points with 10 treys against Atlanta prior to Friday.
Other Options: Bradley Beal, WAS at MEM, $9,300; Khris Middleton, MIL vs. CLE, $7,200
Small Forward
Davis Bertans, WAS at MEM, $6,800 — When you think elite 3-point shooters a few names come to mind ... Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Davis Bertans. Wait, what? Yes, Bertans is having a historical start to his season in terms of 3-point shooting. He ranks 5th in the NBA in 3P% at 46.5% while shooting 47.4% from the field. He’s made 30 three-pointers over the past five games, so that’s 6.0 per game for those playing at home. Bertans and the Wizards are a great stack option vs. the Grizz.
Other Options: Paul George, LAC at CHI, $8,300; Will Barton, DEN vs. OKC, $6,300
Power Forward
Kevin Love, CLE at MIL, $7,100 — I’m going to stick with Love, mostly because Tristan Thompson appears to be in the dog house for coach John Beilein right now. The Cavaliers have said they want to showcase Love a bit for potential trade suitors, so he should see plenty of minutes. If Giannis ends up sitting on the second of a back-to-back, I like Love as a GPP play.
Other Options: Montrezl Harrell, LAC at CHI, $6,400; Jae Crowder, MEM vs. WAS, $5,200
Center
Nikola Jokic, DEN vs. OKC, $8,600 — We’re starting to see Nikola Jokic string together some solid fantasy outings. He’s still out of shape or whatever, but that doesn’t matter as long as he’s returning value. This price is still down compared to what we’re used to for Joker. He’s averaging 43.2 DKFP in his past six games while shooting 50% from the field. I think this pace of play is going to be slow, but that’s fine for Jokic. He needs a slower environment to not get worn down.
Other Options: Rui Hachimura, WAS at MEM, $6,900; Marc Gasol, TOR vs. BKN, $5,300
