The New Orleans Saints appear to have some good news out of their Week 15 Friday practice. Tight end Jared Cook took part in practice but did not wear a non-contact jersey, according to beat writer Katherine Terrell.
Cook suffered a concussion in Week 14 and entered the concussion protocol this week. He was limited on Thursday, and we await word on his status for Friday. If he had made no progress in the protocol heading into Thursday, he would have been a DNP. The advancement to regular contact is a good sign.
Fantasy football analysis: Saints TE Jared Cook
The Saints don’t play until Monday, but this information would seem to bode well for Cook ending up off the injury report and not a game-time decision. Concussions are tricky, however, given how symptoms can return shortly after they appear to be finished.
This will still be something to track through the weekend and into Sunday. If you have space, it would be worth rostering Josh Hill to protect yourself of anything unexpected on Monday.
