The Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams square off in a Week 15 matchup that is a little odd. The Cowboys are 6-7 and have lost four of their last five games. The Rams are 8-5 and have one three of their last four games. And yet, the Cowboys lead the NFC East while the Rams are a game back of the second wild card berth. The NFL is a wild world.
The Rams are a 1.5-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, but the Cowboys actually opened as a field goal favorite last Sunday. Heavy money is backing the Rams in this one. Dallas enters the game 7-6 against the spread, while the Rams are 9-4 ATS.
Injury Report
The Cowboys continue to await the return of Leighton Vander Esch, and are hoping for good news for Sean Lee. Lee injured his thigh this past week, adding to an existing pectoral injury and did not practice the first two days of the week. Meanwhile, Dak Prescott is dealing with a hand injury, but has been a full participant all week.
The Rams are hoping to get right tackle Rob Havenstein back this week. He suffered a knee injury in Week 10 and is finally back as a full participant in practice. His starting status is uncertain for Week 15.
Pick against the spread
I’m all about fading the public on this one. The Rams are playing considerably better than the Cowboys, but this feels like the kind of game that helps Vegas keep building casinos. The Rams are flying a little too close to the sun, and I think we see them come back to earth. Dallas won’t win in a walk, but they’re going to win and we’ll hear the usual postgame narrative about how unpredictable the NFL is.
