How to handle Mark Andrews injury in Week 15 fantasy football

The Ravens tight end is questionable in Week 15 due to a knee contusion. We break down the fantasy football start/sit considerations.

Game time update: Mark Andrews is active.

UPDATE: Andrews is “expected to give it a go,” according to Mike Garafolo.

The Baltimore Ravens host the New York Jets in the final Thursday Night Football matchup of the 2019 season, and Ravens tight end Mark Andrews is questionable for the game. Andrews suffered a knee contusion in Week 14 that cost him much of the game. He sat out the team’s Monday walkthrough, and was listed as limited on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Fantasy football analysis: Ravens TE Mark Andrews

This injury offers two questions: 1) Will Andrews play on Thursday, and if he does, 2) will the team limit his snaps?

We’ll know by 6:50 on Thursday whether or not Andrews is active, so that question is not a big concern. If he’s inactive, it stinks, but fantasy football players have time to figure out their alternatives. Hayden Hurst and Nick Boyle would get snaps in his place, and Hurst would probably be the better fantasy option if you were stuck choosing between them. Neither is a great option though, so you can likely find other options on the waiver wire.

The bigger concern is question two. Even if Andrews is active, one has to wonder if he will get limited work on the short week or if a blowout results in him getting early rest. An injury aggravation is possible, but limited snaps seems like the bigger concern.

You have to start Andrews if he is active, but the latter question is something to keep in mind as you prepare for Week 15.
