The 11-2 Baltimore Ravens take on the 5-8 New York Jets in a Thursday Night Football match-up in Baltimore. Can either of their kickers put you over the top to take you to your fantasy football league championship? We break down these players below.
Ravens K Justin Tucker
Justin Tucker currently has the 5th highest points per game average for fantasy football kickers this season at 9.6. He has the benefit of kicking for a prolific Baltimore Ravens offense, which has scored more points than any other NFL team this season. Tucker also brings impressive accuracy to the table, as he has made 23 of 24 field goals on the year, and tacked on 47 of 48 extra points.
The Ravens’ offense may potentially be slowed down with injuries to both Lamar Jackson and Mark Andrews sustained during last week’s match-up with the Bills, but they should be able to have enough scoring opportunities against the Jets to keep Tucker in the elite level of fantasy football kickers.
Jets K Sam Ficken
Over the course of the fantasy football season, Sam Ficken has only averaged 5.5 points per game while kicking for the New York Jets. This low average may result from a combination of low scoring opportunity and a touch of inaccuracy, as Ficken has missed five of 19 field goal attempts and two of 22 extra point attempts this season. Ficken did manage a good performance last weekend against the Dolphins to total 12 fantasy points on three for three field goals and one out of two extra point attempts, but scoring opportunities for the Jets may be more scarce than usual against a particularly tough Ravens defense this week.
