On any other week, in any other game, sure, maybe I’d consider Sam Darnold. But this is a tough spot to consider the New York Jets QB in. The only reason I’d maybe feel OK about the decision is that he’s been playing much better lately. Outside of that stinker vs. the Bengals, of course.
Fantasy Football Analysis: New York Jets QB Sam Darnold
After a couple poor outings, Darnold has settled down. Since throwing seven INTs in two weeks against the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars, Darnold has 10 TDs and just three INTs in the past six starts. He’s mostly picked on bad defenses, so this spot on the road vs. the Baltimore Ravens isn’t ideal at all. The game script may play in his favor, but we also know how road teams perform on TNF on the short week. There’s no way you’re playing Darnold in this spot in a fantasy football playoff matchup. It would be a desperation play in a incredibly deep format — we’re talking 16 or 18-team league.
