The Los Angeles Angels have signed 3B Anthony Rendon to a seven-year, $245 million deal, per Jon Heyman.

Rendon just won the World Series with the Nationals and gets an identical contract to his former teammate Stephen Strasburg, who signed last week with Washington. This is a huge blow to the Nats, who are currently priced at +1200 to repeat as World Series champs.

With the addition of Rendon, the Angels add a star to their lineup to give Mike Trout a chance to compete for a playoff spot. The middle of the Angels’ lineup with Rendon, Trout and Shohei Ohtani figures to be one of the most exciting to watch in all of baseball. Last season, Rendon hit a career-high 23 homers and finished the season with a 154 wRC+. Not only can he hit, Rendon is considered one of the best defensive third baseman in the MLB. The Angels have added a stud and are currently +6600 to win the World Series.
