The Pittsburgh Steelers face a must-win situation when they host the Buffalo Bills in Week 15, and it looks like they’ll get two key offensive weapons back for the game. Running back James Conner (shoulder) and wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) were both full participants in practice on Wednesday, according to team reporter Missi Matthews.
Smith-Schuster has been sidelined since suffering a concussion and a knee injury in Week 11. He has been a DNP since then, so the improvement to full participant is a big one. Conners separated his shoulder in Week 8, and aggravated the injury in Week 11. He was limited last week.
Fantasy football analysis: Steelers RB James Conner, WR JuJu Smith-Schuster
With both looking to return, it shakes up the backup options that have been working for fantasy football players. Benny Snell likely loses most of his fantasy value, even with Jaylen Samuels potentially sidelined with a groin injury. Conner is the only Steelers running back to start in Week 15.
James Washington and Diontae Johnson have gotten extensive opportunities in Smith-Schuster’s absence. Washington has emerged as a useful option in recent weeks, but this weekend against a stout Bills defense, he is only a flex option in the deepest of leagues. Smith-Schuster holds WR2/flex value, but his ceiling is limited against the Bills.
