UPDATE: Irving will stay on the sideline as he works his way back from a shoulder injury. Kyrie won’t play Saturday vs. the Toronto Raptors and has yet to resume contact drills in practice. It’s unclear when the PG will get back in the lineup, but for the time being we can continue to lean on Spencer Dinwiddie in DFS and roll out Joe Harris, Garrett Temple and Taurean Prince.
Kyrie Irving is out Wednesday against the Hornets, Kenny Atkinson said.— Malika Andrews (@malika_andrews) December 10, 2019
Irving has been sidelined for Brooklyn due to a shoulder impingement and coach Kenny Atkinson said the point guard still hasn’t started contact drills in practice. So we originally thought Irving would be back by now, but that doesn’t appear to be close. They don’t have much motivation to rush Kyrie back considering they’ve played well without him. The Nets are 13-10 and hold down the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference.
Fantasy Basketball Analysis: Brooklyn Nets PG Kyrie Irving
This isn’t anything new so for now you can continue to hold onto Nets’ role players like Joe Harris, Garrett Temple and Taurean Prince. Once Irving comes back, those three will take a back seat of sorts. Spencer Dinwiddie at this point should stay in the starting lineup, and even if he goes back to the bench when Irving is back, he’ll play 25-30 minutes a game. David Nwaba and Iman Shumpert will probable go back to minor roles when Irving returns.
