UPDATE: Alshon Jeffery is done for the season due to a foot injury, according to NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo.
The Philadelphia Eagles have been losing wide receivers left and right, and they head into Week 15 potentially facing a serious issue. Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery suffered a foot injury in the second quarter of Monday’s game and was ruled out in the third quarter. Jeffery will get an MRI on Tuesday after feeling something pop, according to NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo.
Garafolo said it “doesn’t sound like it’s an Achilles,” but non-contact injuries can sometimes be a bigger concern than a contact injury.
Fantasy football analysis: Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery
The Eagles were without Nelson Agholor due to a knee injury, and at one point late in the game, J.J. Arcega-Whiteside left with a leg injury of his own. That left them with Greg Ward Jr. and no other wide receivers. It sounds like Arcega-Whiteside should be fine, but even still, if Jeffery misses time, this unit will be severely shorthanded.
If Jeffery does not play, it’s hard to justify any of the Eagles wide receivers in Week 15 fantasy playoff matchups. If Agholor returns, he’s an option for deeper leagues, but Arcega-Whiteside, Ward, and anybody else they add would not be worth even rostering.
