All the odds info you need for Georgia vs. Baylor in the Sugar Bowl

Georgia and Baylor feature very different perspectives going into the Sugar Bowl.

Just two years ago, the Baylor Bears were sitting at the bottom of Power 5 conference football at 1-11 in Matt Rhule’s first season. After going 7-6 in year two, Baylor found itself one win away from advancing to the College Football Playoff before losing to Oklahoma in overtime utilizing backup quarterbacks for the majority of the game.

Meanwhile, two years ago the Georgia Bulldogs were on the verge of winning a national title before a freshman named Tua Tagovailoa entered college football glory and snatched it away for Alabama. The Bulldogs have remained national title contenders the past couple seasons but haven’t been able to get back to the College Football Playoff.

Motivation is the tricky part about bowl betting and so difficult to predict. Georgia has to be going into this one thinking what could have been this season and may not be all that interested in a non-Playoff bowl game. The Bulldogs lost to Texas in this same game last season. On the other side, Baylor will be jumping at the opportunity to prove it can hang with the big boys.

Initial Betting Analysis

The Georgia offense was a major struggle, as Jake Fromm completed less than 50% of his passes in each of the last five games. The Bulldogs let far less talented teams hang around and even lost to South Carolina. We’ll see if Baylor quarterback Charlie Brewer returns for the Bears after going out with a concussion in the Big 12 title game. Regardless, the best play in this game is the under, although waiting until the day of the game to bet the under is a solid strategy. Casual bettors are going to come in and typically bet the over because it’s a more fun way to watch a football game. But we’re not here to have fun, we’re here to make some cash.
