Best available D/STs on Week 15 fantasy football waiver wire

D/ST plays hinge on matchups, so check your waiver wire for these adds if you need help in your fantasy playoffs

When plugging your D/ST into your lineup for the fantasy playoffs this week, don’t blindly throw a team out there just because they’ve been good this season. Matchups are crucial when starting a defense. Unfortunately. most of the better matchups this week are for defenses that already have good ownership numbers. There are a few out there worth considering, though.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6.9 percent) at Lions

Targeting rookie quarterbacks wasn’t great last week but the David Blough led Lions did give up 13 fantasy points to the Vikings, who have a similar defense to the Bucs, as they are strong against the run and weak against the pass.

New York Giants (4.4 percent) vs Dolphins

Ryan Fitzpatrick will give your D/ST fantasy points, the question is, how many? The Giants defense is pretty poor, but they have been more middle of the road of late and Fitzpatrick could be without DaVante Parker again and his offensive line is mostly hobos who don’t quite understand how they got the job.

Dallas Cowboys (49.2 percent) vs. L.A. Rams

Jared Goff is a completely different player on the road and even at home last week when he played well, he still threw two interceptions. Dallas was awful in Chicago on Thursday night, but they do get extra rest and play much better in Big D. This isn’t the ideal play, but I do not trust Goff on the road.
