UPDATE: The Chiefs have announced Darrel Williams is questionable to return to the game with a hamstring injury.
The Kansas City Chiefs are shorthanded in the backfield, and might be a little bit more shorthanded. Running back Darrel Williams left the team’s Week 13 matchup with the Oakland Raiders and appears to have hurt his knee or lower leg, according to beat writer Jeff Rosen.
Williams limped to the sideline and fell to the ground, according to Josina Anderson. He was able to stand back up, but the non-contact nature of the injury is concerning.
The team is playing without Damien Williams, and Darrel’s departure leaves the team with LeSean McCoy and not much else. Darrel was leading the team with six carries for 13 yards, while McCoy had seven yards on four carries at the time of the injury.
