The San Francisco 49ers like to mix things up in the backfield, and so far in Week 13 vs. the Baltimore Ravens, it’s Raheem Mostert leading the way. Mostert is already up to four carries for 54 yards, highlighted by a 40-yard TD run to tie the game 14-14 in the second quarter.
Mostert ($3,800 on DraftKings) is already up to 11.4 fantasy points in the early going, shaping up to be on the top GPP value plays on the main slate. We’ll keep an eye on whether Tevin Coleman (four carries, six yards) gets some more work or if Kyle Shanahan decides to ride the hot hand the rest of the game.
UPDATE: Well, if you thought Coleman was going to get some run, sorry. Mostert is getting the majority of the carries mid-way through the third quarter. He’s up to 12 carries for 131 yards and a TD, plus one catch for three yards, 23.4 fantasy points on DraftKings. The way this game is going, we should continue to see plenty of Mostert given the bad weather.
UPDATE: Mostert didn’t do much in the second half, but was able to finish as the leading scorer in the 49ers’ 20-17 loss to the Ravens. The RB had 154 totals yards with two receptions and a TD for 26.4 fantasy points. Mostert had 19 carries to Coleman’s five, also seeing more looks in the passing game. Is this a sign of things to come? I’m not so sure yet. I think it was simply Shanahan riding the hot hand. But if Mostert can keep this up, he’ll be a trendy waiver wire add in season-long heading into the playoffs.
