Patriots-Texans game offers playoff implications in Week 13

The Texans and Patriots meet in an important matchup for playoff futures in Week 13.

The Patriots come into this game with the best record in the AFC and favorites to win the AFC and the Super Bowl. But the best defense they’ve had in a while doesn’t coincide with their best offense, so there is a chance they will falter before the regular season is over.

The Texans lead their division after beating the Colts in a crucial game last week, but have very little room for error at 7-4, as they set to take on the Patriots. Playing at home helps, but New England is favored by three on the road.

The Bills have played well enough to be a threat to the Patriots in their division still, as they are 9-3, and the Patriots are 10-1. Any faltering by New England could leave a door open for the Bills, as they will get a rematch in Week 16. The Patriots don’t have a cupcake schedule to end the season with the Texans on the road, then the Chiefs at home, a comfortable win at the Bengals, then the Bills and another easy win against the Dolphins.

After the Patriots, the Texans schedule is vs. Broncos, @Titans, @Buccaneers, vs. Titans. It isn’t a murderer’s row for the Titans who have upped their game of late. The AFC South could come down to Week 17 this season.
