What to do with DeVante Parker, Albert Wilson in Week 13 fantasy football

Parker’s been a fantasy force the past few weeks for the Dolphins. Is there another Miami WR that you can trust this Sunday?

It’s crazy how quickly things can change in football. If you were to ask someone in the beginning of October whether DeVante Parker would hypothetically be a good fantasy option in a meeting with the Eagles, the sticking point would be Parker, not Philadelphia’s secondary. The former first-round pick had been inconsistent through Miami’s first four games of the season, even going without a single catch on seven targets versus the Patriots. Conversely, in the same span, the Eagles has allowed five different opposing receivers to rack up 100-plus yards against them, including teammates Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley in a Week 2 loss to Atlanta. However, Philadelphia’s appeared to turn that aspect of its defense around as of late, holding teams to an impressive 5.3 yards per passing attempt in the team’s past three contests.

Still, you’re going to use Parker this weekend. The Louisville product sits as WR8 in PPR formats dating back to the start of Week 7, a stretch of time that’s seen Parker accumulate the ninth-most targets (49) and the fifth-most receiving yards (466) of any wideout. The actual question of this matchup is the viability of anyone else on the Dolphins’ roster. Albert Wilson’s seen 13 targets the last two weeks, but exited last Sunday’s tilt versus Cleveland with a ribs injury. Allen Hurns has logged at least 87% of Miami’s offensive snaps in three-straight games, yet he’s been limited in practice with an ankle issue. Plus, on top of all that, WRs Preston Williams and Jakeem Grant are sitting on season-ending IR. It honestly looks pretty bleak beyond Parker.

Fantasy Football Analysis, Miami Dolphins WRs DeVante Parker and Albert Wilson

It’s undeniable that the Dolphins have been a competent offense with Ryan Fitzpatrick at the helm. Also, with an NFL-worst 9.33-point average deficit when beginning a drive, Miami’s a team that’s generally inclined to throw the football and create a voluminous environment for its receiving corps. However, in season-long, I can see no reason to trust anyone outside of Parker. Wilson’s stated he’s hopeful that he’ll be active in Week 13, but even if he is, where’s the upside? The speedy WR is clearly still effected by a hip issue that ended his 2018 campaign, as he’s posted an anemic 5.5 yards per touch so far in 2019. Maybe he or Hurns is an acceptable flyer in DFS tournaments, yet even that’s a dicey proposition.

Start/Sit Recommendation

Start Parker. Sit Wilson.
