So maybe Bruce Arians is a QB whisperer after all. Or maybe Jameis Winston is still a bad QB but just has incredible receivers, no run game and looks really good in terms of fantasy football production. Maybe go ... well, I won’t go that far and quote The Departed, but you get the point. I think it’s more the latter than the former, but to take away from Arians.
Winston is coming off another great fantasy week with 313 yards and three TDs with 38 yards rushing vs. the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12. That nearly had him up at 30 fantasy points, his highest total since Week 4 vs. the Los Angeles Rams. Winston has put up at least 21 FPTS in six straight games now entering the Tampa Bay Buccaneers matchup vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
Fantasy Football Analysis: Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston
Is Winston a must-start in pretty much all formats? Did we just become best friends? Yep! So yeah, as long as Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are healthy and getting open, I think Winston is a great season-long play the rest of the year. The Bucs aren’t really playing for much, so you know they’re going to chuck it no matter what and not take the foot off the gas. Tampa Bay can’t do much playoff spoiling, but at least they can beat up on bad defenses like the Jaguars. I think if you’ve got a questionable choice at QB this week, trying to pick up Winston in shallow leagues is smart. In deeper formats, if he’s on your roster, play him.
