How to handle Jimmy Garoppolo in Week 13 fantasy football

The 49ers QB will have arguably the toughest test of his career this week vs. the Ravens. We break down whether you should start or sit him.

In what many viewed as a tough test for the San Francisco 49ers, the Green Bay Packers proved to be no threat to them in the NFC. Jimmy Garoppolo and the Niners made swift work of the Packers on Sunday Night Football in a 37-8 victory. Garoppolo didn’t need to do much, George Kittle took care of most of it. Plus, Green Bay’s offense couldn’t solve San Fran’s secondary at all. Now Jimmy G and Co. will have their (actual) toughest test of the season against the Baltimore Ravens.

Fantasy Football Analysis: San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo

So many are viewing this matchup against Lamar Jackson and the Ravens as a potential Super Bowl preview. It definitely has the makings of it, with both Baltimore and San Fran entering as two of the top offensive and defensive teams in the NFL. The Ravens defense has been dominant the past three weeks, but that could mostly be because of who they were playing, plus their offense. Baltimore has allowed 26 total points in that stretch, so Jimmy G is in a tough spot, but not insurmountable.

I think this game has shootout written all over it and this could be 2019’s Chiefs-Rams game from last season. With that in mind, Jimmy G may be forced to throw the ball a ton to keep up with Jackson. Or the opposite could happen and both defense dominate the game. Who knows really. But I think given the ginormous spot Jimmy G is in, this isn’t a situation I’d fade him in.
