Best daily fantasy football quarterback plays under $6,000 in Week 10

If he starts, Brian Hoyer has a great path to a big game, but the value of the week is Ryan Tannehill vs. the Chiefs

Finding value is always the name of the game in NFL DFS. Players with salaries under $5,000, but with big roles in a given week, are gold in DFS, as you can spend up at other positions while still piling up substantial points. Here are some of the top quarterback plays under $6,000 on DraftKings in Week 10 at DraftKings.

Brian Hoyer, Indianapolis Colts vs. Miami Dolphins ($5,900)

Obviously, this choice hinges on the Colts holding Jacoby Brissett out this weekend. If that happens, Hoyer is in a terrific spot against the miserable Dolphins defense at home. Hoyer more than acquitted himself last week against the Steelers and now has had a week to prepare. It’s not sexy and might blow up in our faces, but if Hoyer takes care of the ball, his pass-catchers should be able to carry him to a 20+ points game.

Sam Darnold, New York Jets vs. New York Giants ($5,800)

Speaking of things blowing up in our faces. Look, we don’t like doing this, any more than you’ll like playing him. But the reality – on paper reality – is that Darnold is in a terrific spot to get himself off the floor and be a real quarterback again. The Giants are on a short week and are missing key offensive players, which at least should afford Darnold extra possessions and good field position. If he doesn’t see any ghosts, he has a chance.

Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans vs. Kansas City Chiefs ($5,100)

Tannehill isn’t getting any DK love -- his salary has been in the low-5K range since he took over for Marcus Mariota – but the man is getting the job done. In his three starts, Tannehill has 23, 19 and 28 DK points. Now he gets a home game against a Chiefs defense that ain’t reminding anyone of the ’85 Bears. His salary opens up all sorts of Christian McCaffrey possibilities in your lineups. That’s worth the price of admission right there.
